about us

When I was ten years old, in art class, we built box cameras and were allowed to shoot and develop two prints. I can still remember seeing that photo of the playgroud slide appear in the developer. I was hooked and started taking photos whenever I could.

I credit my mother, who always had a camera handy, for teaching me that photos are important, sacred even for showing us who we are and who we were. She also showed me time and time again, that in order to get a truly great photo, you had to use a mix of persistance, patience and a good sense of humor.

I took this advice into the photojournalistic world of action sports, news and editorial newspaper photography that I studied throughout high school and college.

This is also what I try to bring to my wedding an portrait photography, a good sense of what the client wants through good communication and the patience to capture unique, personal and unforgettable images. I truly love shooting weddings because it is an important day full of amazing moments that you share with your family and friends. I work hard to create the best images I can so that you may enjoy and remember this day, whenever you want, for generations to come.

Born and raised in Missouri, I now live and work in Denver, Colorado and the mountains with my wife and son. Sarah has joined me in Watson Photography this year as my second shooter for weddings, and will also be specializing in children's photography and equestrian shoots.
